Where I was at on the 11th February, 2016 …
Last Saturday I had the privilege of attending a local writer’s workshop. The speakers didn’t focus on technique and process (though they did talk through a lot of their own experiences) but rather on their journey as authors. All three speakers inspired me, ignited my dreams and passions again and I left ready to fly… Until … I arrived home and was reminded quickly of the season I’m in.
Dreams… I have a crazy amount of stories in my head. I have words I want to share with not only the YA audience but the world. I have books that need to be written.
Journeys… It’s been two years since the release of my last novel. I never expected it to take this long to release the third book in the Spirally Trilogy. I never thought it would take this long to release my fourth book.
Seasons … I homeschool three of our four children. It’s a choice and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My children are all in sporting activities in the afternoon and Saturday and right now their contact hours add up to a full-time job of driving for me. On top of that they attend youth groups and other social activities. Our real estate business is going amazingly which means hubby is very busy though he does help when he can with the late pick-ups. And I’m studying two certificate courses.
I stop and remember to be thankful.
I am grateful, I’m allowed to homeschool my girls.
I am grateful to have an awesome hubby who is helpful every day.
I am grateful I have the privilege to increase my knowledge in the avenues I enjoy pursuing.
I am grateful I have been given a gift to write stories.
It might not all happen tomorrow, but the journey is exciting.
